Food Event Picks for February 2013

Hi folks!

Now that Valentine’s Day is over it’s kind of nice to have a break from sweets. This weekend some friends are having a potluck where we’ll all cook a recipe from Jerusalem, which is a fun way to get people together around a theme.

We have some great food events listed but I was decided to go on a quick hunt to see what other intriguing events were going on in the food and libation world in the Bay Area this February, and here’s what I found that I’d like to go to:

Wilbur Hot Springs’ Guest Chef Series has Tim West as a guest chef, Feb 22-24 at only $170 for 5 meals where you learn and eat! Along with tips in the springs and massages, who doesn’t want to do this?

CUESA in SF has mozzarella making with the Milk Maid as well as an array of citrus and rice centric cooking events that blew my mind when the newsletter arrived in my inbox.

HOMEBREW 101, SF on Wednesday, February 27, 7-9PM – What better thing to do than learn to make beer during the month of Beer Week! $40 for 18 Reasons members; $50 for the general public

Cooking with Rosetta – A Taste of Sicily in Emeryville on Friday, February 22, 2013 6:30pm – 9:30pm at Paulding & Company kitchen – Visit bella Sicilia in this full meal cooking class. Given the price is about the same as a prix fixe meal, it’s really worth checking out! $85.00

March 2nd Raw Bay Area has Flavors of the Mediterranean, where you can make all your fav mediterrean foods like falafel but in raw form! On March 02, 2013 9:00 am – 11:30 am at
Cafe Gratitude in Berkeley, $49 per person

Spring and summer garden planning with Master Gardeners of the Peninsula, a 2 hour free session.

picklesINNA Jam has lemon preservation classes the weekend of the 16th / 17th in Emeryville and Happy Girl Kitchen has their usually array of great maramalade and canning classes in a bunch of cities.

That’s some good food for thought for now! Got any other events we should know about?
