Bay Area Food Guides & Lists
We’re Bay Area peeps through and through which means we love sharing our food finds and helping culinary travelers discover the best…whatever you’re into. Here’s a list of some really great food websites that help us find fun, interesting food experiences and restaurants.
A Food Lover’s Guide to Bay Area Food Websites
Bay Area Bites – The food blog from KQED (an NPR affiliate). When visiting Southern California be sure to check out Good Food from KCRW in Santa Monica along with Evan Kleiman’s companion podcast.
Bold Italic – With themes of “read, do, shop” the Bold Italic not only puts on fabulously eclectic food and neighborhood-centric events in San Francisco but offers perspectives of local writers on their micro-hoods around San Francisco. If a website can be “hipster” this is it.
Eater SF – The latest on where to eat in San Francisco along with bits of gossip and food news.
SF Gate Inside Scoop – Breaking restaurant news that’ll put you on the cusp of what’s new.
Tablehopper – a weekly insider e-column about the San Francisco dining scene, written by Marcia Gagliardi who also wrote the book (or a book) on where to eat.
Tasting Table – daily news on new food artisans, restaurants and events. A great newsletter to subscribe to when planning a trip to San Francisco (or to other places where Tasting Table writes)
